They Say It's Supposed to Snow

March 5, 2013

6 to 10 inches of snow is what the weatherman forecasts for my area. I wonder just how much will actually accumulate through the night and into tomorrow. In all honesty, I am ready for spring to grace us with its presence and the thought of snow puts a damper on that dream. But, if we get as much snow as they say, it will be beautiful and here's why. From our two-story apartment, which starts on the second floor, the falling snow gives the illusion of being in a snow globe. Being up so high is magical as the snow cascades down, especially at night with the street lights illuminating its descent. It almost looks like glitter coming from the sky. Lucky for us, we have a lot of windows in our place and they are large windows at that. So with the shades up, the room dark, and falling snowflakes, it's very easy to pretend you're the one on the inside of the glass globe. So my thoughts are this: if it snows tonight, like they say, Pete and I will be sitting in the dark living room with hot chocolate watching that pretty snow come down. Hmm...now I'm kind of hoping we really do get all that fluffy, white goodness.
