Handcrafted Candlestick Holders

Monday, February 10, 2014
It's supposed to snow again, and I'm just not sure how I feel about it. I do know I don't want a light dusting, because that kind of snow disappears within an hour of falling. I hate to have my hopes high for a giant snowfall, to only have them clobbered by a snow sprinkling that leaves the ground as brown as it was to begin with. So, we'll see just how right the weather predictions are come the next few days. I think I'm good with one huge snow and then spring just magically appears. That would be nice, wouldn't it?

In the meantime, I do have some sassy new candlestick holders for tapered candlesticks if the power were to go out and we would need light. And it's all thanks to my handy husband. A few weeks back, I had the idea to turn some cubed, leftover wood into candlestick holders for the table. Because, why not?! Plus, I have a new-found obsession for tapered candlesticks and needed something to hold them.

Well, leave it to husband to surprise me with a little different take on my original idea. It's a design I hadn't even thought of and is quite brilliant if you ask me. I think the design adds so much more aesthetically, not to mention it makes the candlestick holders original and unique.  I love them a whole lot, especially since their handcrafted by my favorite guy. And they do go pretty swell with the succulent box atop our table. Leave it to the Hills to craft up an idea and turn it into a reality. It's turning out to be one of my most favorite things to do!
