'Tis the Season + A GIVEAWAY [closed]

November 11, 2014

This exact time of year just might be my favorite. It's getting chillier out, the leaves are still hanging on for the most part, and the holidays are in full swing! I love the festivities of this season and just how jolly it makes me feel. The holiday décor is everywhere, people are starting to bundle up, family comes together, holiday food is popping up, and the coziness of it all is taking over. The little things perk my spirits right up during this time and I can't get enough of it!

With Thanksgiving just weeks away and Christmas around the corner, I find it totally acceptable to crank the Christmas tunes up loud, light balsam-scented candles, and pull out Christmas jammies. 'Tis the season for holiday cheer and I'll be emanating it for the rest of the year!

'tis the season... for Starbucks red cups and their holiday drinks. I don't know what it is about these bright red coffee cups, but they get me every time. Their Christmas blend is also out and it's their only ground coffee that I really like. Husband and I have a latté maker and that's the best blend to use to get an incredible drink!

'tis the season... for Christmas decorations! I would be decorating for Christmas now, but I thought I would give Thanksgiving a chance. So instead I am using a combination of decorations that will easily help me transition from Turkey Day celebrations straight to Christmas. And I may or may not have a tiny Christmas tree already up at my house.

'tis the season... for holiday cheer! I love receiving Christmas cards in the mail, because snail mail doesn't happen often enough. And it's especially exciting when it's a greeting card. That's why I decided to make my own this year for purchase

'tis the season... for Christmas music! I'm guilty of listening to Christmas tunes as soon as Halloween ends. As a kid, all things Christmas were reserved for December 1st through the end of the month. It never felt long enough. So as a married gal, husband and I have started our own holiday traditions, one of which is making it completely okay to let a little Christmas in during November, only to go full throttle with it by mid November. It makes me feel like I've had an abundance of time being all Chrsitmas-y and I love that! No more feeling like it just wasn't long enough; let the Christmas music play.

'tis the season... for Christmas movies! Hallmark Channel might be cheesy, but it does my holiday loving soul good. With twelve new Christmas movies just waiting to be premiered, you better believe my DVR is set to record all of them. Same goes for ABC Family's 25 days till Christmas. I might be 24, but I'm still as crazy about that stuff as I was as a kid. Some things never change. (Bonus points for anyone who knows what movie the above scene is from! It's my Christmas favorite!)

'tis the season... for knit scarves! I LOVE myself some scarves and for lots of reasons. You just can't go wrong with them, ever. My favorite scarves are the knitted ones, but seeing how those are only for the chillier/colder months, I soak up the time I have to wear them. Just about every year I purchase a new knit scarf because I get a lot of use out of them, and they truly keep me warm while also sprucing up my coat or outfit.

Fortunate for me, my cousin, Olivia, knits beautiful scarves and has recently decided to offer them for purchase! She makes an assortment of scarves, available in a multitude of colors and made uniquely for you. She even makes scarves for littles with super soft yarn!
