Fall Décor

September 3, 2015

I can't say enough good things about fall. If you've been following along with me from the start, you know just how crazy I am for all things autumn. As in, I simply can't get enough. Any given year, the fall bug bits me toward the end of July. I crave the cool air, chilly temperatures, the cozy nature of this season, etc. That's not even naming all the fall accents like the clothes, drinks, décor, etc.! I could go on for days about my love for this season, it would come quite naturally to do so. However, instead I'll just show you how I've spruced my home up for the best season of all. It's my favorite time of year, and my house surely shows it!

Our built-ins are a great spot for decorative pieces. One of my favorite ways to add accents to these shelves is by using books, specifically my Chatbooks. And when I pick cover photos for these books, I purposefully do it with seasons in mind so that I can display a seasonally/holiday appropriate themed Chatbook to reflect the time of year!

One of my new favorite pieces for the seasons and holidays is this tree I snagged last year from Pier 1. The pinecones were already pieces I used to decorate the tree from fall through Christmas. Then I found these mercury glass pumpkin lights from TJ Maxx, and I knew just where they needed to go in my home!

Hands down, one of my favorite places to decorate in my home is the console table in the family room. And truth be told, it's also still a work in progress. So the next time you see, the layout of fall goodies on the top of the table will be different. What can I say, sometimes a gal's decorative work is never done ;)

How great is this natural, birch-inspired candle votive holder?! It's a Target find, and as of yesterday it was 20% off, with another 20% off on top of that thanks to Cartwheel. And if you're a red card holder, then another 5% off! I also scored some pumpkins at that discounted price that aren't pictured, but no worries they will work there way into the scheme of things. All I can say is, fallelujah for a fall sale!

I love twinkling lights, I think they make a space feel so cozy and comfy! My vine pumpkins didn't originally have lights, but I added some and I love how they transform the family room into a fall oasis.

My dining room table saw the biggest fall decorative difference this year. I transitioned a box husband made me into a pumpkin holding beaut! And I love the way it turned out. I am really drawn to blue pumpkins this fall, and I'm so glad I incorporated them into the mix!

Who said interior doors can't have wreaths?! The two doors in my dining room sport wreaths year round to add a little something to the space. While there are typically vibrant boxwoods hanging on the doors, there are now my fall wreaths that I made last year.

This year I really wanted to bring some fall accents to my bedroom. So using some pieces I already had (the candles in years past were on the dining room table) and adding a couple of new items, I easily brought fall upstairs, and I'm in love!

One of the last ways I added some fall to our bedroom was by making shams for my pillows. I found the plaid at a fabric store and quickly sewed shams. I have one other pillow to recover to finish the look off, and I'm thinking that this weekend will be perfect for that!

And there you have it, a quick tour of my fall decorated home! I'm so looking forward to seeing how you spruced your home for the best time of the year! Wouldn't it be fun if we could do a progressive home tour of sorts and jump from home to home to see all the fall goodness?! I'd surely have apple cider bubbling and a pumpkin dessert for the part of the tour that stopped at my home :)
