Oh Baby! || Week 33

November 10, 2015

When I really start to think about just how close we are to little lady's arrival, I feel so ready and also a bit nervous (something I'm sure all expectant moms, especially first-timers feel). I can't wait to meet our girl, that's for certain. The way of life that will be changing with her arrival is what I'm most anxious about. Not in a bad way, but just a "this is very unknown and what is it going to look like" kind of way. I'm very thankful to have husband by my side in all of this; his support during pregnancy will continue once she's here, and I know I couldn't do it without him. I also have giant faith that God is going to guide us through this transition. He gave us this gift, and I know for sure He's not leaving me alone without His guidance.

How far along? In the 33rd week

Baby's Size: A durian (whatever that is!) || approximately 17ish-18ish inches and anywhere from 4.2-5.8 pounds (woah, baby!)

Gender: Sweet girl!

Baby Fact: Baby girl is keeping her eyes open while she's awake, and she's also starting to coordinate her breathing with sucking and swallowing. Her bones are hardening, and she is going through even more brain development.

Weight Gain: 21 pounds as of a couple of weeks ago. With a doctor appointment later this week, I'll find out if that has changed. My feeling is yes.

Baby's Movement: She does not have a lot of room, that is my consensus. She's either up under my ribs (like right this moment while I'm typing) or very low. I love watching her move all over my belly. And she definitely has more of a tendency to move wildly whenever she hears her daddy's voice. Can we say, daddy's girl?!

Maternity Clothes: Yes. But I prefer the comfort of my sweats or nightgowns.

Sleep: Some nights I'm out like a rock, while other nights I hardly sleep and bathroom breaks are up to two a night. Naps are all the rage, the only problem....I don't get to take any.

Symptoms: Acid reflux is still quite prevalent, Braxton Hicks are fairly frequent, and my hips are doing a ton of loosening. Swelling is also a whole lot more common right now. With my latest symptoms, I know that my body is definitely preparing for birth.

Cravings: I'm a drinking machine. Cold beverages are my favorites. Pomegranates are still the best. And fruit popsicles are now up on the top of my cravings list. With not much room left to fill up my stomach, eating a big meal is quite unappetizing at the moment. I'm now even more inclined than normal to want to snack randomly throughout the day.

Miss Anything? Sleeping on my belly. I can't wait for my own tummy time!

Best Moment This Week: Knocking out more of the items we need for baby girl. Her diaper/hospital bag is now packed. And we are looking at installing the base of her carseat within the next couple of weeks.

Worst Moment This Week: Life worries. You know the ones I'm talking about? Fortunately, I've got a big and mighty God who's got all of this under control. It's just a matter of giving it all over to Him.

Looking Forward To: Birthing class #3. Just two more to go until we're birthing ready (or so we think!).

How's Husband? Just as giddy as I am! He loves watching baby girl move to his voice, and multiple times a day he tells me how excited he is to hold his girl. I'm going to melt, like putty all over the floor, when he holds her for the first time. Husband has also been awesome at helping me get my boots on and off as well as tying my tennis shoes. What would I do without him?!
