The Cutest Pumpkin In The Patch

October 4, 2016

Happy October!! The best month of all is here, and I'm basking in its glory! The air is getting crisp here in Virginia, with the mornings and nights being the perfect kind of cool. The acorns are dropping from the oak trees out my window, and the need to burn a fire in the fireplace with a cup of hot cider is just about here. Can you feel my excitement??

We've been so busy with moving, unpacking, and projects that we decided to make October a time of intentional family time and traditions. And the first of the month was the best place to start. So when husband suggested an impromptu visit on Saturday to kick our October off, I couldn't resist. Plus, there are few things more precious than a baby in a pumpkin patch. Heading to Joe's Trees for our annual Hill family pumpkin patching was the perfect way to spend our Saturday evening. When you get quality time with your people it is so life-giving. Who's with me? Of course, it doesn't hurt that it's fall, the air is getting cooler, and there are pumpkins everywhere!

The joy that spreads across her sweet face makes my heart explode. She loves adventures and taking in new things. The pumpkin patch was magical for her. She loved being able to touch everything around and share it with her little people.

This picture just makes me so darn happy. From those sweet smiles to arms wrapped around one another, I can't get enough. Greer's cousins are crazy about her, and she is just as crazy about them. They have such sweet relationships with one another, and I'm so excited to see how they will continue to grow and develop. I'm not sure who is more smitten with who, but these three have me completely smitten.

These two will give their little lovie whatever her heart desires. Want a pumpkin?? How about two?!

Speaking of sweetness, Uncle Pete and his boys are just as precious. Have I mentioned how good it is to do life with your people, your family??

Selfishly, I so hope she gets the love of fall and all things pumpkin from me. I think we're on the right track so far!

These two make my world go 'round. Being a family of three the last 9 months has been magical. Being a parent isn't always easy, but it is the most rewarding thing I've ever done. And can we talk about those chunky thighs for just one minute?!

Every year at the patch I've taken a photo of husband just like this. And every year he's holding a sweet pumpkin. This year was no different ;)

These beauties came home with me and are now nestled on my front porch. If I could have, I would have brought home a bunch more!

The pumpkin patch is absolutely gorgeous no matter what time of year. The mountains as the backdrop is breathtaking. I was surprised to see that none of the trees had really started changing colors, but I think it all has to do with the heat we've been experiencing so late into the season this year. We'll be making another trek back to the patch later in the month, so I'm excited to see the leaves' progress by then.
