Fall Bucket List

Wednesday, September 6, 2017
The fall season is upon us, and that means one thing. It's time for doing and enjoying all the fall things! As soon as September arrives, I become overly giddy for chilly weather, pumpkins everywhere, fires, sweaters, and autumn baking. I find joy in every. single. part. of. fall. Not that you didn't know that already ;) And I love savoring it. In order to do so, I find that we have to slow down as a family from here through Christmas, taking the time to soak it all in instead of skimming over it. When you give yourself the time to fully submerge in an activity (without worrying about your to-do list, chores, thinking ahead to the next thing, etc) you get so much more out of it. And as list maker, I love a bucket list for the season so that we don't forget anything.

  • apple picking --> we just so happen to be doing that this Saturday as tradition holds up!
  • baking apple desserts --> like this apple crisp crumble using our fresh-picked apples
  • pumpkin patches (x2) --> we went twice last year, once at the beginning of October and once at the end. I loved having double the time there.
  • baking pumpkin desserts --> like this one + this one
  • find our favorite fall children's books
  • pumpkin carving + painting
  • play in the leaves
  • attempt making apple butter again, this time in the crock pot for a small batch
  • go to the zoo
  • take Greer to a VT football game
  • celebrate husband's birthday
  • have lots of indoor and outdoor fires
  • make lots of pot roasts soup + chili
  • Starbucks PSL + Salted Caramel Mochas
  • make pumpkin pancakes for breakfast
  • decorate for Halloween
  • put together a family Halloween costume --> look at last year's!
  • trick-or-treating
  • plan a fall-themed framily get-together
  • make Thanksgiving plans

I have a feeling I will think of more!
What are you must-do's for the fall? I would love some new ideas!
