Hello, 2018!

January 1, 2018

Happy New Year, friends! I stayed up a record-late-night (early pregnancy has had me in bed around 9:30/10) last night to ring in 2018 and woke to the sweetest surprise this morning...feeling our Junebug move! Now that's a wonderful memory for the first day of the new year. I'm hoping to share a bumpdate this week to catch you up/record this pregnancy thus far. Today makes 16 weeks, and in five and a half months, we'll meet this precious face for the first time. 2018 is going to be one for the books; I can already feel it. And I truly believe that to make it happen, it's all about putting in the energy, drive, effort, and determination. Because as nice as it would be for it to happen all on its own, I think the results wouldn't be as rewarding.

Every year since we've been married, husband and I have opted to choose a word for the year instead of setting resolutions. We think about our aspirations and desires for the year ahead and then find a word that encompasses all of it best. This year, our word is "simple." We want to simplify our life to better enjoy it, to rid of the clutter (in our home and minds), and find a simpler stride in our day-to-day. I'm really excited about this word and applying it throughout the year. Do you pick a word or set resolutions?

To round out today, I thought I would share some favorites coming into the new year with me. I snatched up the Hearth & Hand 2018 planner to keep organized; will be using these amazing pens to pencil everything in; and grabbed these stickers to give my planner a littler bit of charm. This pack of rose gold USB charging cords for your phone are also a must-have...one for the van, one to extend my phone's reach for my nightstand, and an extra to keep with my computer. I love new tools for getting organized, don't you?!

Be sure to follow me on Instagram for our 2018 adventures! And the next time you visit Starbucks, grab this peach citrus-infused green tea (sweetened); so good!

And for a little fun, here are some highlights from 2016!
