Ornament Painting 101

November 12, 2013

How is it already 9:20 on this Tuesday night? I guess some days just go by in the blink of an eye, whether you will them to or not. Today just happened to be a day that completely got away from me. However, I have something fun to share...the Hills' homemade ornaments! Remember, we're doing the holidays on a budget this year, and we're having as much fun as possible creating different ways to make our decorations. There's so much appeal (at least for me) to make something homemade for the holidays. It gains sentimental value and turns out to be the most memorable way to prepare for the most wonderful time of the year.

So, Friday night, Pete and I bunkered down in our living room with the fireplace roaring and coffee by our sides. Using acrylic paint that was already in my craft collection, we spent a few hours painting the inside of glass ornaments. You never know how much fun you'll have doing something until you've tried it. And this was one of those times. We now have some pretty festive décor for our very first Christmas tree. And don't worry, we haven't gone and gotten that yet. But, soon!
