Oh Baby! || Week 28

October 6, 2015

I still can't believe we're in the third trimester! Time is flying. Baby girl is going to be here before I know it, and that seems crazy. Exciting too! I can't wait to see her sweet face for the first time and to finally hold her. And to let her name out of the bag :)

How far along? In the 28th week

Baby's Size: An eggplant || approximately 13.6+ inches and anywhere from 1.5 to 2.5 pounds

Gender: Sweet girl!

Baby Fact: Baby girl is getting more fat, making her wrinkly skin smoother. Her lungs are also extremely mature, as is the rest of her anatomy. Now she's prepping for breathing.

Weight Gain: 12 pounds

Baby's Movement: Have I mentioned my girl is a mover?? She loves to move as I'm settling down for the night, especially if I'm on my back. I can feel her higher near my ribs these days, and that's kind of wild. Recently, she has taken to moving a whole lot when I'm on my side trying to sleep. She feels close to my back and I worry I'm squishing her, which is keeping me awake at night. And I've said it before, but this girl loves her daddy's voice. She can be still for a long period of time and as soon as her daddy gets near my belly to talk to her, she's all movement. Daddy's girl much?!

Maternity Clothes: Give me all the cozy clothes. That's how I'm most comfortable. Shirts are definitely getting shorter as the bump expands, and maternity pants are where it's at...like I'll probably keep wearing them long after pregnancy.

Sleep: Fatigue is creeping back in slowly but surely. While that is helping me sleep through nightly bathroom breaks, feeling baby girl's stronger movements are now waking me. So naps are certainly welcome these days.

Symptoms: Swelling, indigestion/acid reflux (give me all the TUMS), back aches, fatigue, and breathing is getting harder as my lungs are getting squished.

Cravings: Fruit - clementines, purple grapes, and pomegranates. Carbonated juice, ice water, and orange & spice tea. Cereal and all the sweets.

Miss Anything? Getting a good, deep breath regularly.

Best Moment This Week: Celebrating our 2nd wedding anniversary yesterday!

Worst Moment This Week: I've been experiencing a sore throat, some body aches, etc over the weekend and into the week. I'm hoping it's not sickness and is due to the weather changes.

Looking Forward To: Our anniversary/babymoon trip coming up later this week! Bring on the relaxation with husband!

How's Husband? Crazy excited to meet our girl! At least once a day he tells me how much he's looking forward to meeting and holding her. With all the passing milestones (anniversaries, holidays, etc.) we talk about what those will look like next year with a little one included. We're both looking forward to being a family of three. And husband couldn't be sweeter when it comes to caring for me in pregnancy and prepping for baby girl's arrival.
