The Perfect Christmas Tree

November 9, 2015

It's that time of year again, when husband and I head to the tree farm to scout out the perfect Christmas tree. This is no easy feat, but it's fun nonetheless! This year we're going on our tree hunt much later than normal due to a very full October. But the weekend provided the perfect timing for an adventure into a tree covered hillside. And so we went, this year with some extra Hills in tow.

One of my very favorite smells in the whole world is fresh pine. There's nothing quite like it, and it will forever remind me of the holiday season and this tree tagging tradition.

Unofficially, this was baby girl's first tree-tagging experience. Carrying around the extra 21 pounds of baby bump brought on lots of extra exercise while walking up and down the hills searching for just the right tree. Next year is going to be extra sweet with her along for our family adventures.

I think I'll never get tired of this place and its views. Joe's Trees has an extra special place in my heart, and I'm so thrilled to be passing down some of my sweetest childhood memories to my family. Like I said, including baby girl next year is going to be wonderful and also quite sentimental. Making these memories with her and carrying on family traditions with a new generation feels extra special.

After 20 minutes or so of measuring up every tree that looked like a candidate, we finally found our Christmas tree. It was just as tall as husband's hand stretched up high, big enough my arms can't connect around it, full of branches, and tapered just right. So basically, Christmas tree perfection!

We tagged it, and bid our tree farewell until the end of the month when we will head back to the tree farm to cut it down ourselves. Thankfully, one of the farm workers will come haul it out for us, because there's no way this very pregnant gal is helping to carry out our tree this year!

To say I'm excited about returning to cut our tree down and bring it home to decorate is an understatement. This time of the years is simply magical! Have a lovely Monday, friends!!
