This Is Halloween!

October 31, 2017

Happy Halloween, friends! This morning we surprised Greer with a giant jack-o-lantern balloon, and she hasn't put it down since. She is a lover of all balloons, so her "Haw-o-ween bawoon" has made her entire day. She knows we're going trick-or-treating for "more candy" later this evening. And yes, those are her exact words; I don't know where she comes up with a lot of the stuff she says, but she's always dead on and uses it in the right context. I'm thinking it might stem from our little trick-or-treating adventure in Target on Saturday. As we walked around the store, different stations were set up handing out various items. One of those stations had candy, and we explained how to say, "trick-or-treat" and then she could pick a piece of candy. I think it stuck :) She also had her very first bite(s) of candy bar over the weekend, a Snickers bar, and girlfriend was in heaven.

Speaking of the weekend, we spent a lot of time prepping for Halloween, think making a candy run and getting our holiday festiveness on. We spent time outdoors enjoying the crisp and cold weather, then warmed up inside by the fire while pumpkin carving. Greer was not a fan of the pumpkin guts, and would not touch them. But she did love stirring up the pumpkin seeds we tossed in a bowl for baking later. She has loved seeing the jack-o-lantern lit up, and I imagine she is going to love the magic of tonight! We finished our weekend by baking Halloween cookies, and to my utter delight, Greer loved baking them. Aren't holidays just so much more fun with a little?

I hope you all have a ghoulishly good time tonight! xo
