As excited as I am for the Christmas season, it is crazy to me how quickly fall flashed by us. It seemed to take forever to arrive, with the hot temperatures hanging around in Virginia for much longer than normal. By the time the temps cooled and the leaves had changed, we were almost through the month of October. At present, most of the trees in our neighborhood are spotty if not completely bare and the weather is giving us more wintertime feels than fall.
So during the last week of October, on a mild and beautiful weekday evening, we slipped outdoors to enjoy the autumn goodness. There was leaf-jumping to be had and fall treasures to be found. With a hot latte in hand, I decided to photograph our evening together, and I'm so glad I did. I wish I could keep my girls this little forever, but at least I have these sweet memories and some photos to look back on.
