Chick-fil-A Copycat Chocolate Chip Cookies

January 21, 2020

Who else views baking as the perfect way to recharge and spend some time to yourself? I have loved baking since I was a teenager, and that hasn't changed after all of these years. The only difference is that it's a little harder to find the time to bake in peace and quiet. Though, it is a lot sweeter baking these days when I get to share the treats with the cutest and most appreciate little people + husband.

So last week, after an evening pre-natal massage, I wanted to keep the relaxation going and had my heart set on figuring out a recipe for chocolate chip cookies that closely resembled those from Chick-fil-A. If you've never had one of their cookies, you need to do so ASAP. Or now you can make these cookies, because they are pretty darn close! My pregnancy cravings are SO happy with this chocolate chip cookie goodness, and they're too scrumptious not to share!

    • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
    • 1/2 cup crisco
    • 3 TBSP honey
    • 2 TSP vanilla extract
    • 1 1/3 cups light brown sugar, packed
    • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
    • 2 eggs, room temperature (set out about 1.5 hours before baking)
    • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
    • 1/2 cup old-fashioned oats
    • 1 TSP baking powder
    • 1/2 TSP baking soda
    • 1 TSP salt
    • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

  • What You'll Do
    • Preheat the oven to 350°.
    • Cream together the softened butter and crisco. Add the honey, vanilla, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Mix well, then add the eggs.
    • In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, oats, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Combine well, then gradually add to the the butter/sugar mixture.
    • Fold in the chocolate chips.
    • Scoop large dollops (about 2-3 TBSP) of the dough onto parchment-lined paper.
    • Bake for 14 minutes (or until the cookie edge is lightly brown).
    • Let cool for about 10 minutes, then transfer to a cooling rack to continue to cool down completely before storing.
    • Enjoy!!
